As the director of the center, Dr. William Myers has over 20 years of quality experience with complex intraocular and refractive surgeries. He is an innovative surgeon who was one of the first doctors in Greater Chicago to switch to outpatient cataract surgery in the early 1980's. In 1994, he became one of the first ophthalmologists in Greater Chicago to utilize topical eyedrop anesthesia for most ocular procedures. He began performing laser vision correction in 1996 shortly after the FDA's approval of the excimer laser. Today, he continues to accept regular advancements in technology and implement all of the latest techniques within his own practice.
