Dr. Howerton has been practicing ophthalmology in Austin since 1979. After receiving his Bachelors of Science from the University of Texas at Austin he earned his Masters of Science in Physiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Dr. Howerton attended the University of Texas Medical School. He completed a fellowship followed by a three-year residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston.
Dr. Howerton is well known as a specialist in cataract and refractive surgery. He uses only the most-advanced equipment for every procedure. With access to this high-tech equipment, he can use the laser best suited to the individual patient.
