How to Know You Can Trust Your Eye Surgeon

There are many LASIK eye surgeons in the United States. They offer a wide variety of specialties, equipment, and experience levels to prospective eye patients. There is so much to know about every surgeon, that choosing the right one for you can be a difficult endeavor. Fortunately, there is one tool that can make your search easier. Read patient testimonials. A great way to know what to expect from your eye surgery is to hear what others have experienced in similar conditions.

You can have your eye problems... and fix them too!

It used to be that only a few people were good candidates for LASIK eye correction. Only if the eyes were within a small range were they even operable. Fortunately for those without textbook vision problems, times have changed. The FDA recently approved the LADARVision System for the treatment of nearsightedness (myopia) and farsightedness (hyperopia) with or without astigmatism using LASIK. This means that 99% of all refractive errors are now treatable with Ladarvision.

Ladarvision is innovative LASIK equipment that makes the procedure more safe and effective then ever before. Myers Center For The Eye in Illinois was one of the first vision clinics to use a Ladarvision system. They remain on the cutting edge of LASIK technology. Thanks to the new FDA ruling, they are also able to complete safe surgery on a wide variety of vision problems. So if you have vision problems, fix them safely and easily!

Fix Your Vision Without LASIK

LASIK seems like the "miracle" surgery. It has the ability to give many patients 20/20 vision without the hassle of glasses or contacts. The surgery is nearly painless and recovery is fast. The surgery is not prohibitively expensive. Some insurance companies even cover the surgery. LASIK sounds perfect. Unfortunately, not everyone is eligible for LASIK corrective surgery.

For those that are not good candidates for LASIK surgery, there is an option that can render all of the same benefits that the celebrated LASIK procedure can. This option is called "Crystalens." Crystalens uses comfortable implants directly in the eye to correct vision problems. Doctors simply take out the eye's natural cloudy lens, leaving its outer pouch intact and attached to the eye's focusing muscles. Then, they replace it with the Crystalens. The Crystalens is currently FDA approved for people over age 50.

If you are not eligible for LASIK, consider Crystalens implants to correct your vision problems. Currently, there are only about 300 surgeons in the United States that are licensed to perform Crystalens surgery. Kelly Laser Center in New York City performs Crystalens surgery.
