Fix Your Vision Without LASIK
LASIK seems like the "miracle" surgery. It has the ability to give many patients 20/20 vision without the hassle of glasses or contacts. The surgery is nearly painless and recovery is fast. The surgery is not prohibitively expensive. Some insurance companies even cover the surgery. LASIK sounds perfect. Unfortunately, not everyone is eligible for LASIK corrective surgery.
For those that are not good candidates for LASIK surgery, there is an option that can render all of the same benefits that the celebrated LASIK procedure can. This option is called "Crystalens." Crystalens uses comfortable implants directly in the eye to correct vision problems. Doctors simply take out the eye's natural cloudy lens, leaving its outer pouch intact and attached to the eye's focusing muscles. Then, they replace it with the Crystalens. The Crystalens is currently FDA approved for people over age 50.
If you are not eligible for LASIK, consider Crystalens implants to correct your vision problems. Currently, there are only about 300 surgeons in the United States that are licensed to perform Crystalens surgery. The Carter Eye Center in Dallas, Texas performs Crystalens surgery.
